CLEVELAND - A group of Greyhound passengers is not pleased after their bus left three and a half hours late and then took an unexpected detour on Thursday morning.

"We were on this bus for seven hours just going in a circle," said passenger Morgan Staley.

Passengers told News 5 their bus was supposed to leave at 2:30 a.m., but it didn't actually pull away from the bus station until 6 a.m. To make matters worse, once the bus got into Pennsylvania, passengers said it turned around because the driver said there were problems with the bus.

"I woke up around eight and I see signs that we're heading back towards Ohio," explained Staley.

I fall asleep, I wake up around 8 and I see signs that we’re heading back towards Ohio

But wait, there's more.

The bus reportedly missed Cleveland and got all the way to Toledo before the driver realized the error.

Now riders are looking for alternative ways to get to their destinations. One booked a flight and another caught a new bus.

Passengers said Greyhound has not been cooperative through this ordeal and hasn't offered them refunds.

"We tried calling corporate, we tried calling customer service, and everybody just kept talking in circles," said another passenger Raymond Satterfield.

Greyhound said the bus was delayed to Cleveland for unforeseen circumstances. They sent News 5 the following statement:

When the bus arrived in Pennsylvania, it experienced a road failure and the driver was instructed to turn around to exchange the bus in Cleveland. Because of an error made, which we’re currently looking into to obtain details, the driver went back to Toledo. However, the driver immediately departed for Cleveland, exchanged the bus once they arrived and the customers then continued to their destination.

Greyhound said customers interested in receiving a refund can contact their customer service number at 214-849-8966.
