Having Trouble Getting Chkdsk To Run At ReBoot On Windows 7? - Here Is How You Can Do It!

If you go to run chkdsk on windows 7 it will ask you to run it in elevated mode.

Go To ALL PROGRAMS - ACCESSORIES

Right Click On The Cmd. Prompt

Choose Run As Administrator

When The Command Prompt Appears Type In The Following:  chkdsk c: /f

If It Says It Can't Run Due To Another Process Using The Volume
It Means
WINDOWS Is The Process It Is Talking About

THAT IS OBVIOUS SINCE YOU ARE WORKING IN WINDOWS.

Now it asks if you want to instead run chkdsk at next reboot
Y/N - Answer Yes

If Chkdsk Fails To Run At Bootup (It Will Probably Fail)

THEN
 REBOOT IN SAFE MODE

When The Safe Mode Prompt Screen Appears
PICK REPAIR PC/COMPUTER

On New Screen Type In
Username And Password

On Next Screen
Pick Command Prompt At Bottom Of List

When The Cmd Prompt Opens,
Type In: chkdsk c: /f

This Time It Should Work!
